France U21 ready to go
The team is already in Moscow and have one last test match tomorrow against Australia. This will give Francis Denis one last chance to play Sandrine Gruda and Isabelle Yacoubou before the championship takes off.
This is only the second edition of the U21 World championship. In 2003 USA beat Brazil in the final and France won the bronze. Since 2002 France have not failed to big up a medal in U20/U21 competitions and go into this competition with the objective of continuing the tradition.
What has happened to the French team of 2003:
Celine Dumerc: Captain of Bourges and is in the French Eurobasket preliminary roster.
Emile Gomis: Currently playing for USVO and is in the French Eurobasket preliminary roster.
Elodie Godin: former Fiba Europe young player of the year, back to back French Championships with Bourges and USVO.
Emmeline Ndongue: Currently playing at Bourges and is in the French Eurobasket preliminary roster.
Sabrina Reghaïssia: Won the triple at Bourges, played last season at Montpellier. Moves to USVO next season
Clare Tomaszewski: After 4 seasons at Tarbes moves to Clermont-Ferrand next season
Elodie Bertal: Currently playing at Montpellier and is in the French Eurobasket preliminary roster.
Aurélie Bonnan: After one season at Tarbes moves to Montpellier.
Florence Lepron: Currently playing at Bourges and is in the French Eurobasket preliminary roster.
Gaëlle Skrela: Currently playing at Montpellier but is out of action for the rest of 2007 due to injury.
Pauline Krawczyk: Currently playing at Clermont-Ferrand
Penda Sy: Just got back at the end of last season after a series of injuries and joins Mourenx after 4 seasons at Tarbes.
